Space Inventor Receives Investment Backing of Capital-Strong Industry Leader
Henrik Sørensen, who sold a large share of his holdings in the pump manufacturer DESMI in 2022, has acquired just over 25 percent of the North Jutland–based satellite manufacturer Space Inventor. The capital injection, combined with Sørensen’s decades of experience with profitable growth, globalization and sales to international defence companies, further strengthens Space Inventor’s ability to realize its ambitious growth plans in the coming years.
Aalborg, 5 January 2026 – North Jutland industrial profile and former DESMI CEO Henrik Sørensen has acquired 25.2 percent of Space Inventor, a leading Danish satellite company. The investment is made through Sørensen’s company Stenseminde Holding and will help secure a robust, long-term growth foundation for Space Inventor, which in just a few years has gained international attention for its advanced satellites and technological breakthroughs.
By taking ownership of 25.2 percent of the shares and joining the board of directors, Henrik Sørensen and Stenseminde Holding will contribute with deep industrial expertise and insights into global markets and defence supply chains. This will support Space Inventor’s ambition to strengthen its already strong position in the global market for satellites and space technology.
Over a 26-year period, Sørensen and his team transformed DESMI into one of Denmark’s most successful industrial companies. He now brings that experience, financial strength and his industrial mindset into the space sector.
- Space Inventor is a company with tremendous potential. They operate in one of the world’s most exciting growth markets and develop solutions that are both recognized and in demand internationally. Furthermore, Space Inventor delivers several critical components to other satellite manufacturers, which provides a strong foundation for taking on a global position. That is why, through Stenseminde Holding, we are investing with a long-term perspective and clear ambitions for profitable growth, says Henrik Sørensen, owner of Stenseminde Holding ApS.
He adds: - As a family office, we invest in companies with strong values, clear development potential and where we can contribute. We have many years of experience in internationalization, global sales and supplying both civilian and defence customers — experience I naturally bring into this new partnership. I look forward to working closely with the Space Inventor team, he says.
Since 2015, Space Inventor has made a significant mark on the global space industry. The company is behind pioneering geostationary communication satellites, Denmark’s first lunar mission, Máni, Nordic defence satellites, as well as satellites and equipment delivered to several NATO member states. With the new investor, the company strengthens its foundation for its already defined strategic direction.
- We are bringing onboard a strong and highly competent profile with deep industrial understanding and global vision. Henrik Sørensen has grown a North Jutland company into an international success, and I am convinced that through this partnership we will be even better positioned to achieve the goals we have set for the coming years, says Karl Kaas, Founder & CEO of Space Inventor.
The market for satellites is expected to continue its strong growth in the years ahead, driven by increased focus on security and defence infrastructure — areas in which major investments are pushing the entire space industry forward, both civil and military.
