Visit from Marie Bjerre and Torben Froberg

We were pleased to welcome Marie Bjerre, Minister of European Affairs, and Torben Froberg Poulsen City Council Member, to Space Inventor yesterday.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss central policy issues that will shape the future of the European space sector. We touched on the upcoming EU Space Act, where additional requirements for interoperability and registrations could risk reducing competitiveness for smaller players if not designed with proportionality in mind. We also discussed the European Defence Fund (EDF), which holds clear potential to strengthen European capabilities, but at the same time presents challenges in ensuring fair access for SMEs. Finally, we presented our BIFROST microsatellite and its role in Arctic monitoring, highlighting the strategic importance of space infrastructure for security and sovereignty in the region.

It is essential that regulation and funding frameworks are developed in a way that supports - not limits - the ability of European space companies to innovate, compete, and deliver technologies that safeguard both national and European interests.
