MANAGEMENT
Robust, Adaptable Power That Evolves With Your Mission
At Space Inventor, we know that power is the lifeblood of your spacecraft. Leveraging our deep vertical integration and in-house manufacturing, we deliver flight-proven power management systems that guarantee dependable operation throughout every mission phase.
Built upon our core philosophy of Flexible Modularity, our power solutions are designed to scale with your mission requirements. Whether you are flying a medium-sized CubeSat or a multi-ton microsatellite, our inherently modular architecture minimizes development time and risk. Expanding your battery capacity or adding power channels is as simple as integrating another module – delivering a bespoke power profile with no need for costly redesigns.
THE MODULAR POWER PLATFORM (MPP)
Scalable Architecture up to 4 kW
Our Modular Power Platform (MPP) builds upon our heritage-proven P4-series equipment. It combines battery chargers, battery modules, and power distribution units with essential safety modules – such as the Flight Preparation Panel (FPP), Kill Switches (KS), and the Bus Protection Unit (BPU) – into one seamless system.
The Power Backbone Advantage At its core, the MPP is built around a shared power backbone bus that connects all modules within the satellite. This ensures ultimate mission reliability and streamlined harnessing:
- Built-In Redundancy: The backbone provides two redundant battery buses, two CAN buses, and two Platform Enable buses.
- Flexible Configurations: Each module features dual backbone connectors, enabling simple daisy-chain interconnection for compact harnessing (up to 700 W).
- High-Power Scaling: For larger missions, the system connects via a power aggregator (AGG) to support solar array power levels up to 4000 W.
FEATURED POWER MODULES
Designed for extended lifetime, easy integration, and uncompromising operational safety.
BATTERY CHARGER
The MPPT is an advanced Battery Charger that connects your satellite's solar panels directly to the spacecraft battery bus.
The Capability:
Features four PV input channels (0.6 A output current each), utilizing DC-DC buck converters to ensure the optimal operating point for each solar cell array across extreme temperature ranges.
The Advantage:
Post-conversion, the channels are combined through ideal diodes into two output power buses. Equipped with dual MCUs, a CAN interface for redundancy, and software-controlled battery charging switches, the MPPT ensures flawless energy harvesting.
BATTERY MODULES (BAT)
Our BAT modules are built on reliable 18650 Lithium-Ion technology, designed for operational safety and extended orbital lifespans.
The Capability: Available in two scalable variants: a 4-cell (14.4V nominal, 50Wh capacity) and an 8-cell (28.8V nominal, 100Wh capacity).
The Advantage: The built-in daisy-chaining feature allows multiple modules to be connected in parallel effortlessly. This provides a flexible, powerful energy storage solution that grows directly alongside your mission requirements.
POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT (PDU)
The PDU is the critical distribution hub for your satellite, ensuring clean, regulated, and protected power reaches every subsystem.
The Capability:
Available in multiple variants to suit any payload: Battery voltage feedthrough (normal and high power), regulated 12V, regulated 5V, and regulated 3.3V outputs.
The Advantage:
Engineered for supreme safety, the PDU boasts redundant MCUs, a redundant CAN interface, and current sensing across all 8 channel outputs. With programmable under/overvoltage protection, output current limits, and rugged 8-pin M80 connectors, it fully protects your payload against overcurrent and latch-up events.
